Filming this small, intimate wedding in Banff, Canada this February was truly one of those experiences that stays with you long after the cameras are packed away. Banff has a magic of its own in the winter—crisp mountain air, dramatic landscapes, and a quiet calm that makes every moment feel more meaningful. While the day was cold and chilly (as you’d expect in February!), we were lucky to have no snowfall on the wedding day itself, allowing the mountains to stand tall and clear in the background like a painted backdrop.
One of the most special parts of this experience actually happened the day before the wedding. I had the opportunity to join Teri and Dan and their families for some fun, family-filled activities—including dog sledding. It was such a blast and a rare gift as a filmmaker. Being welcomed into those moments of laughter, adventure, and connection made everything feel so natural the next day. Getting to know a couple before their wedding day creates a bond that’s so different from the usual quick introductions—by the time the wedding arrived, it felt like filming friends rather than clients.
The wedding took place at the iconic Fairmont Banff Springs, a venue that feels straight out of a fairytale. Known for its rich history and castle-like architecture, it sits nestled among the Rocky Mountains with views that are nothing short of breathtaking. No matter how many times you visit, the scale and beauty of this place never fails to impress.
The wedding day began softly and sweetly, with Teri surrounded by her family and closest friends as they helped each other get ready. There was a warmth in the room that contrasted beautifully with the cold outside, quiet conversations, gentle laughter, and the kind of calm excitement that fills the hours before something truly special.
Meanwhile, Dan shared a private and emotional moment with his siblings. His brother and sister surprised him with a video filled with childhood memories, and it was incredibly touching to witness. Moments like these unplanned, deeply personal, and full of love are why I love what I do.
Their first look took place in the Cascade Ballroom, framed by large, arched glass windows that flooded the space with soft, natural light. It was the perfect setting for Teri and Dan to see each other for the first time in their wedding attire. The emotion was quiet but powerful one of those moments where time seems to slow down.
Afterward, we spent time exploring both the venue and the outdoors, capturing portraits of just the two of them. The Fairmont’s historic interiors paired with the sweeping mountain views outside created endless opportunities for stunning shots, and Teri and Dan were absolute naturals together. The ceremony itself was intimate and heartfelt. Hearing their vows exchanged was incredibly emotional so genuine, so full of love. You could feel how deeply connected they are, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
From there, the day flowed seamlessly into cocktail hour and an intimate reception dinner. Their first dance was especially memorable, you could truly feel the love in the air. Dinner followed with heartfelt speeches from close family members, filled with laughter, tears, and stories that reflected just how loved these two are. Somewhere in between all of that, we managed to squeeze in more portrait sessions, making the most of every beautiful corner of the venue.
Overall, I had an absolute blast filming this stunning wedding in Banff. Being a part of such a meaningful, love-filled celebration in one of the most beautiful places in the world was an honor. Teri and Dan, thank you for trusting me to capture your day, it was truly lovely to be a part of such a special occasion 🤍
Intimate Destination Wedding in Jackson Hole, Wyoming | Priyanka & Patrick
Priyanka & Patrick’s wedding day initially started off rainy and gloomy in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I documented the start of their day with them both finishing up their vows. As the rain cleared up, the clouds revealed the stunning backdrop for the ceremony - the Teton mountains. Through this documentary style of filmmaking, I captured Priyanka & Patrick’s fusion of cultures - their Indian wedding with a Western twist.
